Originally from Doncaster, I moved to Hitchin after university and now live on the edge of the Greenway with my husband and two dogs. I’m a competitive figure skater and have represented Great Britain internationally.

I work for the Financial Ombudsman Service and over the last year have spent much of my time supporting vulnerable consumers and businesses deal with the financial fallout of Covid. I have a passion for social justice, and am an able dispute resolver – skills which have been invaluable during my time representing you at North Herts District Council.

My proudest achievement isn’t sorting Urbaser out and returning our bin collections to an acceptable standard, or making sure the College development (if it must go ahead) includes funding to support opening up a second access to the station. What brings me most joy is that through working with our community I saved Rosehill Park from the last Conservative administration’s cruel and short sighted policy of playground demolition. And I am proud that in administration we have put an end to that program.

As an athlete sport and the opportunity to participate and be active matters greatly to me. Over successive lockdowns our small community parks and playgrounds have been invaluable to those who don’t have gardens, or need a bigger space to let kids be kids. Just like parks, our leisure centres will be vital as life gets back to normal.

Local authority leisure facilities make exercise affordable to a far wider segment of the community than private gyms; they’re also where our children learn valuable life skills like swimming. So when the Tory government consistently let down our sporting community our decision at NHDC to support and fund our leisure centres was absolutely the right thing to do for the future health of our district.

If you re-elect me I will continue to improve our bin service. Bringing my consumer support experience into my role as Executive Member for Recycling and Waste I will be undertaking a customer service review of Urbaser’s call centre. I am placing the environment at the centre of waste considerations and have started work on a food waste reduction project. Covid has also undone some of our work on reusables, so I’m working on how we can reduce our reliance on single use coffee cups as lockdown eases.

I have been your voice at NHDC for the last five years. I will continue to advocate for you in planning matters, support you with housing issues, campaign alongside you and be available whenever you need friendly support and advice.
